The basement exterior walls are coated with a damproofing material. Stone (2b) is placed on the footings and partially up the walls. The balance is filled with soil resident on the site. The deck (floor) is sometimes framed prior to backfilling.
The “CO” is also known as the Certificate of Occupancy. Issued by a local governing agency after a dwelling has been approved for occupancy, it typically is executed after final inspection of the project. This is an important step in the building process as the owner may officially move into the home.
